「Health Promotion Stars」Training

Training for the "Health Promotion Star" program was conducted at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital on November 30 and December 14, 2024. Ms. Mandy Ng, the Deputy Director (Nursing) Head Nurse of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Jockey Club Myopia Prevention Programme, elaborated on common eye diseases and shared tips for daily eye care. She also provided examples of foods that are beneficial for eye health. This session enhanced students' knowledge about children's eye health and enriched their experience in promoting eye health.

Additionally, the students visited the eye clinic at the Eye Hospital, where they learned about eye examination procedures and medical equipment. Furthermore, our Health Promotion Officer, Dr Amelia Lo, and Research Assistant and Nutritionist, Miss Nicole Ma, explained the planning and implementation of health education activities in preschools, helping students gain confidence in conducting early childhood health education activities.
